doh *slaps head* :)

Damn, didn't know the power sweep I ordered was Zoo Med.

They really that bad?

I was hoping to have it in the middle of my tank swinging back and forth, with my 2 aquaclear 301's at either end of tank.

yes, sorry to say they are that bad, they work for a little while and then when they get algae and such on them they stop working and become just powerheads. they were a great idea, but they just are not made right, tooooooo much maintainance.

:( thanks

I'm only paying $15 for it, so I'll give it a try. Silly thing is, I was only initially ordering some epoxy stick, strontium, calcium and iodine, saw the powerhead and thought it would be a good idea.

My other powerheads aren't actually too bad with algae, they seem to be the only thing the snails want to clean. So maybe I'll get lucky.

they suck, i have 4 of them that i bought at the same time, i should have bought 1 and tried it then i would not have bought the other 3. hydor has a great little item out,its called the hydor flo, it actually attaches to the output of a powerhead or the return from the sump, the water flow powers it. it rotates 360 degrees, very cool device, i have had 4 of the for a month and they work great(a month already beats the zoo meds piece of crap) here is a pic of 1 on my tank.

Wow!......it turned into a purple green penis :!:

We've had one in our small display in the store for a little over a month now.. So far it's run like a champ. but I think they're far too large and hideous to be placed anywhere conspicuous.
