Hi,

I walked into my living room today, and decided to move my zoo rock only to find the water felt warmer than normal..yup.. it was 82.. not detrimental.. but my heater is set to 74.. thats almost 10deg diff! I also noticed my heater has condensation on the INSIDE of the glass tube..

Has anyone used VIA AQUA titanium heaters? BigAl's and Marine Depot sells them..

Thanks,

B.

No, they must have just come out with them or something because I have not seen them yet and I am a fan of the titanium heater. Nice to have more choices out there.

I have also seen condensation inside glass heaters and it freaks me out!!!

I've got one. It's been in my 180 set-up for almost 9 months. Works like a charm. The thermostat setting seems quite accurate compared to my dig. thermometer and the thermo in my chiller. I have a Visi-therm on my 20gal doing the same thing you mentioned (never totally sticks, but now unreliable) and will probably replace it with the Via -Aqua Ti unit. I think they are good for the price, and have not heard any negative feedback. I have heard some questionable things about Won bros. tho FWIW.

I had the opposite experience.

Worst heater I've ever owned. Crapped out in 10 months :? . One of the LFS stopped carrying titanium heaters completely because customers complained about erosion, but I didn't have mine long enough to see if it would happen.

My reliable Visi-therm is over 10 years old. I'll probably never venture from this brand again, when it comes to heaters.
