I have a 180 reef (starting out)
inhabitants so far :
2 pink tipped anemones
3 large turbo snails
15 small snails (unknown)
2 peppermint shrimp
12 hermits
1 cabbage coral
I am looking to start to add fish about 1 a month (except chromis maybe)
would theese work out ???
1 purple tang
1 copper butterfly
either a rusty angel or a powder blue tang ( I like the tang but not sure with the purple in there)
6 green chromis

I would wait on these 2 pink tipped anemones your tank is to new for them, they need a more mature tank.
I also would not put the purple & Powder together they have similar body shape which may be trouble.

I agree on waiting with the anemones. I couldn't say on the tangs, but those are two fairly aggressive species.

I'll put a copy of this in the GRD forum so you can get some more feedback...

I like the Purple in there with the swimming room in a 180, but from what I've heard and read the PBTs are difficult to keep for extended periods except in more mature tanks. It had something to do with the way they are caught or transported (cyanide collection at a high rate I think) and caused many of them to arrive stressed and with a shortened lifespan.

Is the Copperbanded reef safe? If so, definately put him in. Aside from being a sharp looking fish, I think they may actually eat Aptasia (sp?) that is bound to pop up in enough LR.

If I'm wrong about the PBTs, let me know - thay were on my list as well until I heard some negative things.
