Does anyone know the height of the stands that support the light?

By the way, this is my first post--so a big hello from Lansing, Michigan.

Also, did anyone hang this light or just use the stands. If it was hung, could you please describe your approach?

Thanks for your help

I believe the Pro uses the same legs as the regular Aqua, if so, then thy're about 3.5-4 inches off the tank bottom. However, IME the legs are very poorly made and break often. I have never seen them hung however that is something you definitely want to try if you can. :D

I just received the 48" Aqualight Pro, the leg stands are 3.5". I am going to use the legs, but I am building a wooden frame (4 X 4's on the sides), so the light will end up about 8" from the water surface. The tank is a 72 G bow front (water is 20" deep).

So....please give me feedback about this set up. Two 150W HQI MH 10,000K and two 96W PC Blue Actinic.

I sure would like to have some hard corals and a cuople clams in my reef tank....thoughts please.

has a Aqualight.. the legs WONT break unless you break them Very well made

I think the aqualight is great, quite possibly the best bang for buck and best PC fixture out there. However, I have had it a year and 2 legs have broken on me, neither which was exposed to unusual amounts of wear.

Just IMO/IME

You'll certainly be able to keep those. Because they are 150's, you'll need to keep brightly colored SPS in the upper 1/3 of the tank. For clams, crocea and maxima will need to be no lower then 2/3 of the tank, derasa, squamosa, or gigas will be fine at the bottom.

What amount of time do you have the moon lights on. When I checked my tank this morning my two fish were still active instead of normally inactive behind rocks.
