I now have the 2/175MH and 2/110VHO up and running over my tank. They look great however, I monitored the temp yesterday. The MH are on for a 7 hour period and the temp got up to 82.6. This morning when I got up it was at 78.9. Is this flucuation going to cause problems for me in the future? I was thinking of going for some sps in the near future but I obviously dont want them to die. What do you think?

The swing seems a bit much to me. Do you have any fans running? Is you canopy vented? Try adding a couple of fans that come on with the lights. It should help some.

You can also turn your heat up. I keep my tank at 83 all the time.

I agree with Jim. Let your heater keep your temp at 82 or 83.
