Anyone know if I should or should not cycle my tank if I am aiming to create a jellyfish tank?

Anyone have links to sites that teaches how to raise jellyfish?

Any information about jellyfish would help.

Thanks

IMHO, the *ONLY* jellies that should be kept in home aquaria are the Cassiopeia Andromeda & Xamancha.

I suppose advandced aquarists can have success with moon jellies, et al, but the related expenses for Kreisel tanks is HUGE!

One of the main things to remember, is that jellies are 95% water IIRC. Minor changes to water chemistry can really mess them up, so you need to ensure you've got the best rig possible to have pristine conditions.

If you've got the $$ and time I s'pose you could try those other species....I just feel that with the noted exceptions, jellies should be best left in the ocean.

Just my .02 -- your mileage may vary :)

dumb question here, do jellies have the lifespan that cephalopods do, I used to keep octopuses (yes i did say optopuses.) and i know that their natural lifespan is only a few months. Which was why i quit keeping them. Id get one and get attached to it (its amazing how much like a dog or cat they can be.) and its time would come.
