Ok, I know that there is much debate on the subject- so I'm not looking for people opinion as to why one method is better than another. I recieved a sump setup from my friend free of charge that has a bioball system in it. I'm just looking for the safest way to clean and prep it for use on my tank. Is it ok to clean with a diluted bleach mixture and rinse clean? Is there anything special I need to do? Anybody that has any experience with this I would greatly appreciate some feedback.

Thanks

If the bio balls are really filthy just get new they are not expensive. Bio balls ? wet and dry should be prefiltered first to really be affective and the balls stay clean for a long time.
