I recently changed from regular flourescent lighting to compact pc lighting for my fish and soft coral tank. The button polyps, which had always done fine, have been closed since a few days after changing the lighting. Everything else seems to have done better.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Usually, PC's will have a higher wattage. If the change of lights resulted in a big jump in wattage, the polyps may be closing as a result of the sudden change. You may try reducing the lighting period for a while until they have a chance to adjust. Then slowly increase it until you are back to the regular light cycle. Check on them during lights out and see if they open back up some. If so, I bet the light change is the culprit.
