Salt Question?

I started my FOWLR tank with Coralife salt. Then bought Crystal Sea Bio Assay and have done two 5% changes in 10 days. Now I read on these threads that Crystal Seas, in the context of a change from another brand, may be the kiss of death. Yet I see that there are those who have little love for Coralife salt either.

What to do?

Continue changing to Crystal Sea?
Start changing back to Coralife?
Start ANOTHER change to Reef Crystals or IO ?

After more research, I find anecdotal evidence that Marine Enterprises attributes problems to switch from Instant Ocean to Crystal Seas to be in the different pH and alk content of Instant Ocean.

One other person recommends proceeding with switch very slowly over time.

My initial thought is to keep going with the change, albeit slowly, but I would welcome comments from the experts here.

For a FOWLR, you probably won't experience any problems either way, but if you had a reef tank, I would not recommend using Crystal Seas salt.

That's what I use, too. I love how I don't have to run circulation to get it mixed.

OK, Ocean is a great salt. Here's the question: is it a problem to mix salts? I have a mainly Coralife tank, with now about 15% Chrystal Sea. Can I just switch to Ocean, using small water changes, without negative effect? I am sort of stuck in the middle now, and dont know which way to turn. I guess if I had it to do over again, my tank being in stable shape for a 3 month old tank, I wouldnt bother with any of this. But I read that darn study which said Coralife was not good, and saw other posts from people that they steer clear also, so I started to make the switch to Chrystal Sea. NOW I read around here that Chrystal Sea may not be so great also, particularly when changing from another brand.

If I switch to Ocean, about which no one seems to have anything bad to say, is that a problem?

i have used crystal sea since it was forty fathoms (about 18 years) in both my reef and my fowlr and i have never ever had a problem. here is a pic of the reef and 1 of the fowlr.
