Okay, one more question...
I don't have a dictionary handy, so, what does laminar mean in the context of aquarium water flow?

Thanks.

I just purchased an acrylic 150. Just drilled eleven holes in it for the overflow, return, as well as an 8-way. Now I'm curious about laminar flow. I for some reason or another was under the impression that varying flow was a good thing. Could someone enlighten me with their experience and opinion.
Thanks.

Varying flow is definitely a good thing. It can still be laminar, or it can be turbulent, or vary between the two. More flow is definitely better, at least as far as sps is concerned. High velocity of water movement isn't necessarily good, but high volume of water movement is.
