Anyone using this skimmer? I'm seriously thinking of replacing my CSS125 for something bigger. Just got a sump built, and do'nt have alot of room inthe sump for the skimmer. That's where it has to go cuz of space constraints. The Tunze is rated for 264g. I think. Tunze makes good reliable products so I wanna hear from everyone using their skimmers.

Thanx in advance.

dont bother with it ,fine a better skimmer to use ,tunze makes a good stream but they dont make a good skimmer ,If you have the room ,look for a better skimmer tht will work with your tank ,it says its rated for 264 but doesnt do what it says ,JMO

I have a 175 gallon that I use the 9010 on. I did not have lots of sump or cabinet space so that was part of the reason I went with a tunze. It also draws only 22 watts. Read the complete specifications for tunze skimmers before buying. The ratings depend on stocking and type of coral. I have more soft corals than anything else so I did not need a giant skimmer. My stocking level is medium. I was going to go with a aquac 180 or 240 but the size of the pump I needed and the space didnt work for me. Do your research and make an educated choice. I took me 2 months before I figured out which skimmer I wanted to use. I also have a 40 gallon sump filled with Macro Algae that assists the filtration of the tank.

I have a 65 ga tank. 99% of my corals right now are softies, zoos, and LPS. The main reason on choice of skimmers is space constraints. Just got a sump built and now I need to see what I can fit in there. Right now I am currently using a Coralife 125SS. What I would LOVE TO be able to do is do a test using my current skimmer and a different one and see which one gives me better results. Problem is getting a test skimmer.
