About the last 3 months, I've had problems with a substance that appears on the glass of my 28 gal bowfront. It happens when I add both parts of my ESV (Calcium Part 1 and Alkalinity Part 2). Wondering if anyone had any advice on how to prevent this from happening, because it's a REAL pain to get off the glass EVERYDAY! Here's a picture to show you what i'm talking about!!!! 8)

Thanks for the help everyone!

Are you adding each very slowly into an area of high flow so as to mix it completely before you add the second component? My gut tells me you aren't.

I get the same thing when I have both my ca reactor and the kalkreactor running. I can't stand it either.

Actually I do add the Alk (part 2) slowly right in front of a powerhead. If i don't do this, it turns to a snowlike substance. This white "concentrate" doesn't appear on the glass untill about 10 mins after i add both parts 1 and 2.

Try adding smaller quantities. It sounds like you're overdosing and the excess is precipitating out.

Yeah, if your kh goes over arond 17-18 KH the calcium ends up floating around the tank like very fine steam, (So long as you have calcium in there).

Magnesium needs to be at ideal also so as to allow stable readings of KH and PH and Ca.
