Anyone ever heard of a lawnmower blenny starving by refusing to eat hair algae because they've grown to like the taste of the brown diatom film off the glass?
the only thing he'll eat now is nori or diatom film.
Well, I had one that wouldn't eat anything at all.
I tried every food I could get my hand on, and he was in a tank full of various algaes.
It was a real bummer watching him slowly starve and then get so weak he couldn't sit up. I posted around on the boards and tried all the suggestions, but nothing worked.
But I have had several blennies and not of them ever ate hair algae, mine tend to prefer to soft stuff that grows on the glass.
I have this tiny pellet that I feed my lawnmower...I leave it in some SW for a few minutes before throwing it in the tank, to soften it up. I can't remember the name of it...I'll post it when I get home.
Anyone interested in buying a lawnmower...please make sure you see it eat before taking it home.
the thing with mine is he used to devour hair algae, then decided he liked diatom film better and refused to eat hair algae after that. he was good for like 2 years.
