One thing I did before too, was boil a few of the more acutely affected rocks.

Not on those particular rocks. A bit here and there elsewhere, but nothing out of control.

I hate hair algae. Not even the fleet of mexican turbos I got would touch the crap. Lettuce Nudi's are about the only thing that I know of that will eat them. Like Jim said though, they are very fragile and have a natural lifespan of about a year if im not mistaken.
