Ok, I have a 2 week old green star polyp colony, its been all the way out. So it started to not come out for a few days, and now its starting to come out. It looks as if the darker purple whent lighter purple. Was it shedding its purple mat?

I was looking close at my black tahitian moon sand (Cool Sand) and I noticed realy realy small littler critters that are crawling on the surface of the sand, and up the wall a tad. I think these lil dudes are pods. Am I right?

At night I checked on my tank, and I noticed my big red shroom had a bubble that it was attached to? It looked like an inflated bubble it was attached to. What is it?

Ive noticed a big change in babie featherdusters in my tank since I had started to add alkalinity. Will they crowd my tank?

1. Research the gsp's further, as we discussed in channel tonight.

2. Possibly, but only pics will id these critters for you accurately.

3. Sounds like bubble algae to me. The stuff just grows, remove as carefully as possible without popping the bubbles. If you pop it, you release the spore into your tank, which means you get more bubble algae.

4. No, they will not. You will lose many of them before your tank is fully established.

Good luck,
J.

Would need to see a pic of this to tell you more about it then, because I've never seen shrooms do that.

Again, I need a picture. I have never seen a mushroom coral do this. Can't help you figure out what it is without a picture, no amount of description you give me is going to help here.

i think your gsp shed off the bacteria and algae that was growing on it. it is kind of like gorgonians.

those little bugs are probably pods. they are good guys :)

can you take a pic of the bubble? it is hard to say what it is by the description.

Feature duster populations die off as quickly as they explode. Whatever the case may be, I wouldn't worry about it as they're harmless.

I think that's just the bottom of the mushroom. Their undersides can get pretty funky.
