I've got a question about metal halide setups. Is there any reason to get HQI based socket over mogul based socket? I'm just looking into getting a new MH setup for my 33g and would like the best but also would like to know why it's 'the best'.
Bang for the buck, and light output vs heat, go with a 150w HQI on that tank unless you want some inverts with very high light requirements, then use a 250W HQI. Giesseman makes some very nice, and rather expensive units. Aquamedic has some nice fixtures as well. I've used them both.

Edit: When I say "bang for the buck" I mean in power usage, not the initial cost which is usually higher.
