As far as noise no, but they do feel the vibrations and can sense the different variations in vibrations (they can sense the difference between big predators and small predators) or other fish. They have tiny receptors in the nerve hairs of their skull. So a loud noise that rattles your sub-woofer or other speakers will startle your fish. Your other reef critters can also sense the vibrations.

I doubt that is does them any harm.

I was wondering the same thing the other day when I was driving home from the LFS with some new fish.

The new fish were bagged up and I was blasting U2's new CD.

I figured they were probably already so traumatized that some good music couldn't really make it any worse. Who knows, they may have liked it.

i also have my tank in the living room with my sub, and it booms enough to make vibrations on the water, my clowns were afraid at first but i think they got used to it cause they stopped hiding and came back out to glare at me. they dont seem to notice it anymore

.......maybe they've become deaf by now.

Hehehehe.....

Yeah, me too, I play loud music at home too. Actually the fish/inverts gets their break-in on the way driving back from LFS already.
