I currently have A 90Gallon tank. I have about 40 ILBS of live rock. A week ago I tore the tank down to move. I stored the live rock in A 26 gallon garbadge can. I placed an eclipse filter in it for water circulation. I placed my sand bed in five gallon buckets. The temp in both got down to about 50 55 DegF. I set the tank up this past Sunday, the tank cleared up very nicley by Monday, however getting an oder from the tank, amonia is off the charts, greyish debris on the bottom off the sand bed along with some on the rock. Is this die off will the tank rebuild. Skimmer is working pulling a tanish water form tank, quiet a bit actually. would carbon and a clean up crew help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you are recycling. I wouldn't add anything until your ammonia and nitrite are back to 0. I would also do water changes through out the cycle. Do you have anything in the tank other than the rock?

That is the crap that came out of your sand. Syphon it out the best that you can and do it over and over. Ditto on new cycle.
