Just wondering if I should bother putting a fish in a propagation tank and hope you can help weigh the positives and negatives.

If you think there should be a fish, what would you suggest? Are there other mobile creatures you'd suggest.

This is just a small 10g shallow vat for SPS frags.

TIA :D

Propagation tank? You are refering to corals, right?

If the propagation tank's plumbing is connected to the main display, then what fish to get really doesn't matter as the water is already polluted. If the prop tank is independent, then I think no fish would be the best way to go to minimize the pollutant to the water via feeding activities.

If you want fish in the prop tank for aethetic reason, then I would go for maintenantive fish such as sixline, LM blenny, or chevron tang. If the tank is big enough, a small yellow tang would be good to help clean up micro/macro algae.

10 g? No way. Get Astreas and Ceriths to clean algae and detritus.

The vat is separate, so I figured something should be crapping in there. It's probably too small to add a fish. It's just a 33X15X8 fiberglass tray. Snails are probably the best way to go.

Thanks guys!
