About a week ago, I decided to add the final fish to my fish only tank...a juv. Yellowbar Angelfish. I know that he is supposed to be the most aggresive in the tank, which is why I put him in last, but he has yet to come out from the rocks. I would expect this from some of my fish (firefish, etc) but why the angel.
Here are the fish I currently have
1 Sailfin Tang
2 Ocellaris Clowns
1 Coral Beauty
1 Firefish
1 Royal Gramma

Any thoughts?

are you refering to the Pomacanthus maculosus? if so your coral beauty is probably harassing it. with time your mac will aventually rule the tank, your other fish will be in trouble. I would be more wearied about the size of your tank down the road.100 gl is on the small side for a adult mac.

I def. agree the mac (yellowbar) angel will be too big for a 100 galloon. Right now, it is a juv, and will be for a while. I plan on increasing tank size within 1 or 2 years. The coral beauty has beeen in the tank for about 8 months. The coral beauty does not look to be harassing the mac. As a matter of fact, no fish seems to be harassing the mac. The mac seems to be hanging out in the live rock caves checking everything out. I just don't want him to die because he is timid. Let me know if you have any more suggestions.

Thanks
Brian

While it may not be harrassing it, it may very well be intimidating it at the moment. Check when lights are out to see if your P. maculosus ventures out.
In the mean time it's natural diet is comprised of sponge so it may be feeding on sponge growth in your live rock caverns.
You may want to tempt it with meaty foods to see if it will venture out, live brine shrimp usually does the trick.

Coral beauties are wimps. I'd be much more worried about the tang than anything else.

On the contrary an established C. bispinosa can inflict quite a bit of damage in an enclosed 72 1/2 x 18 1/2 x 19 3/8 glass box.

i agree that a week is a little long for a fish to still be timid. has he eaten anything yet?
I would also agree that the CB might be threatening him a bit. I wouldn't expect the sailfin to be the culprit only becasue they aren't really similiar shaped or colored fish. However Juvi angles look quite similiar to Dwarf angles.

He is still hiding for the most part, but has come out more and more each day. I have been observing them and from what I see, neither really harassing. I have not seen it eating much, but he still seems to be swimming ok.
I just expected the Mac. Angel to be the least timid.
