the past couple days my RO/DI has been vibrating. it seems like it's the ASOV. I have the unit hooked up to automatically top off the system by way of float valve. every 30-60 seconds it makes a low fequency moan and vibrates, then the PSI gauge goes up to 60-70 psi for just a second and then drops back to 0.

any clue what to do about this? it's REALLY annoying

check the drain line flow control ( located on the membrane housing where the drain line is connected)

I have had that problem many times - seems to happen after I change a filter, my guess is that air gets in the ASOV. The only thing that works for me is to reduce the pressure of the water flow into the RO/DI unit. I find that their is fine line between having enough water pressure to run the unit but not enough to cause the groaning.
For some reason, the people at Kent don't want to acknoweledge the problem, I knew I wasn't the only one.

Just wondering... you don't have a permeat pump on the RO/DI do you? It can vibrate pretty badly sometimes....

check the tds of your tap water ? what is it ? you might have a permeate pump witch is not really a pump in terms of what you might think of as a pump but that is not the only thing to consider like I said check the drain line flow control (a restriction in the drain line that is nothing more than a small tube stuck in the drain line ) remove it and cut it a little bit shorter not to much

hey, yeah, I recently changed the filter and I actually got a responce back from AirWaterIce.com also claiming that could be the problem... air from the new filters got trapped in the ASOV.

I disassembled the ASOV, put it back together and hooked it back up... sound vanished from what I can notice.
