Can you double them up to make the stronger?

I use three 6 gallon buckets. 2xempty salt buckets that I use for water changes. I use a screw top dog food storage container, about 6 gallons, for storing RO/DI. Plus 4 one gallon food grade jugs. 2 for RO/DI and 2 for kalkwasser.

I got mine from local water conditioner guy. They have 35 gal plastic containers for soft water that hold the salt crystals and water mix for backwashing the filter system. The tanks can be bought without a hole or come with a float valve.

The cans are sturdy - the one on my house water softner has been filled with 250lbs of salt and water for 7 years without a problem.

I am luck in that I do not have to carry mine anywhere - instead it is filled from the rodi via a mechanical float valve ( in case I forget its running!!) and use a small pump with a 15' section of tubing for getting the water to the main system. I leave the pump and the end of the hose in the mixing tank to get a good mix before I add it to the refugium. Its nice to have 30 gallons of saltwater on hand and not be worried about it leaking.

I was lucky and got the white food grade barrels I think they hold 45 gal full I use about 30 gal a week so the barrels are nice and the waste water goes into my kio pond which also keeps the ppond clean

I also use the 33g. Brutte one is four years old and never moves. The one I move around has the wheel set.

Hopefully it does not leak. Just another thing to worry about leaking on the floor...great.
