I appologize for posting here, but it's kind of urgent (it's a bad case, fish are going as we speak) and the freswater forum doesn't get nearly as much traffic as this.

I think I got the ich in my freshwater planted tank: I heard that quarantine is only recommended for saltwater, but I just learned otherwise.

I bought a few fish on Tuesday and now almost everybody in the tank got it. Is there any safe/effective product I can buy to cure them? Is it safe for the plants? For the snails? For the fish?

The fish list is as follows:
8 neon tetra
4 otto
2 betta (pair)
6 guppy
3 black molly
3 swordtail
4 angelfish

The livebearers were bought on Tuesday and I think that a swordtail female had it on Wednesday (didn't recognize it at the time). If needed I have a 10 gal to treat them, UV sterilizer, a bunch of filters (fluval), etc.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mihai

I use Quickcure at 1/2 strength for 10 days with a water change on day 5 in my planted tanks, not sure if it is recomended though.

Crank up the temp to around 85 until the stuff is gone. Use something like Nox-Ich. Discontinue carbon filtration. Consider moving the fish to a treatment tank as well.
