well 3yrs in the makeing and lost in 3days i have lost it all all my fish all my corals and now just have an emerald crab and a snail to show for thousands of hours and dollars im out reaching for fellow reefers to lend a hand to start me over again it was expensivee hobby and this years luck has not been good its been so bad i could write a country song. the flood took and wiped out my electric box we had 8.5 feet of water in the lower part of the house. it has all receided out and has left this wonderfulbrown silt ahhhh my poor grey tank was once alive with many softies. its actualy very sad. we have flood ins but you have to fight for every dam dime and i thought it would be covered but no its not nor is alot of other stuff. so I ask if there are any of you out there that can spare a clipping here or there i would very much appericiate it. And then maybe some day i could do the same. please help if ya can help email [email protected]

Sorry to hear that

Man that sucks

The insurance wouldn't give you anything for the tank? what do they need a rider attached for everything?

I hate insurance companies...

Damn, I'm so sorry to hear that! :(

As I understand it, many insurance companies will pay for damaged equipment, including the tank, but livestock is a big NO.

Sorry to hear that bud, those natural disasters can be a *****. Do you have any sort of flood insurance? If so you could probably argue the worth of your tank and the cost to replace it (those don't devalue). Especially if you've recently taken any pictures or anything you can show as proof of what you may have had.

I will have a couple of pieces in the coming months..montipora, xenia and kenyia tree. They won't be very big, but hopefully it will help....

Sorry to hear about your loss. You said you are in upstate. Where are you located? Upstate reef society on reef central might be able to assist.....

That is such a shame

You will probably continue to see die off for a while, it could help to take the rocks out one at a time and scrub them in some salt water. That should remove a lot of the dead organizms

Good luck man
