I like the no rules rule 
It does depend on the rules, but I agree, the more rules there are, the harder it will be. I think there should just be weekly pics to ensure fair play, and let the best tank win. Expenditures will put tanks into different categories:
0-$250.00
$250.00-$500.00
$500.00-$1,000.00
Expenditures- All livestock and equipment used will be rated against a chosen website price guide, which we can vote on (my vote goes to marinedepotlive.com, for example)
Simple: Artistic merit, growth rates, diversity, how about ability to maintain parameters? We could list water test results weekly. Would be easy to cheat here, but we really do have to play fair, keep in mind, this is also a learning experience for all of us. Hiding the truth helps no one.
