Does anybody have a live camera on their reef tank? If so could you post the link? I have been thinking about getting one for my tank. If so what program do you recommend for it? Also does any body have live reef status or control?

Anybody using the Aquanotes live status web page? I did a google search and could not find anybody using this.

I wanted to put a webcam on my tank for when I go out of town, just so I could look at it and see that everything looked right.

I am trying to find a machine to host it. Once I do I'll have one up once in a while.

i usually do this when i go on vacatoin... microsoft has a free program to do it with.... media encoder, it works good if you have a good connection... also a dyn dns server will save lots of headaches too if you set it up to auto update your ip.

It is really esay to implement a webcam but I just havent had the time to do it. I can change and control pretty much any aspect of the tank like lighting and turning fans off and on etc.

Cool. I am also a homeseer, and one wire temp owner. I also agree that webcams are easy to setup since I'm a recent CS graduate. :D
I was just curious about others web design layout, camera choice and software that they preferred for the camera and stuff. I own and used to use webcam32 for live viewing of my 300 gallon reef tank. I am thinking that a wireless computer model would be best so I do not have to deal with the cabeling. Did you just put aquarium glue around the one wire temp entering the tank to secure it from getting water on it? Or did you do something else? Are you putting all the temps into a database?

Frankenchrist, Im not using a 1-wire interface but this kit instead http://electronickits.com/kit/complete/meas/ck110.htm
although, the 1-wire is a really sweet way to log and monitor temperatures.
Im also using X-10 modules for all the lights, pumps and fans etc. Its simple and reliable. as for the temperature probes, All I did was goop em up with Silicone and stick it in the tank. Its been about 5 months and no problems what so ever. The probes are cheap and easy to replace so Im not worried.
As for software homeseer is nice but a free alternative would be misterhouse (do a google search).
