24 hr photoperiod???

has anybody ever kept on they're lights for 24 hrs a day, with no ill effects on photosynthetic inverts such as anemone's.

any thoughts and info will be much appreciated.

I have an actnic/10000k vho a reg 10000k vho and a actnic also vho. I turn almost all off at night except for a couple moon lights and the actnic.

Do you mean for an extended period of time? I've had my lights stay on for a few days (controller malfunction) with no long term effects I can see. But I wouldn't try it indefinitely if that's what you're asking.

yeah for a very extended period of time or at least till i get a fuge. were talkin weeks to months here.

May I ask why you want to do this? I see nothing good resulting from 24 hour photoperiods.

The dark period is necessary for photosynthetic inverts to process certain biological reactions. You'll probably run the risk of losing livestock to photoinhibition.

A few years ago when I picked up my son from a class at the Long Beach Aquarium, I saw a small tank in the classroom looking really bad . When I asked what went wrong, one of his teachers explained the lights were accidentally left on all weekend causing a lot of the corals to bleach and die.
