Eventually the rocks will shed enough in the aquarium to need less syphoning but this may take awhile, months...and if the rock was from a DSB tank it is most likely caked with detritus that could take years to fully shed to the point where maintance wasnt a pain, and sitting detritus can lead to increasing levels of n03 and a generally unhealthy system.
The dark cure also helps kill things like macros, which can otherwise be near impossible to fully remove from the rock.
Of course BB needs high flow to keep as much of the detritus in suspension as possible, and a way to remove it from the water colomn like wet skimming or filter socks cleaned often.
