I got my Super Squirt, omniflex nozzles, and the algae scraper today from Ocean Motions (www.oceansmotions.com). Just wanted to post an FYI about the Super Squirt. It's about as loud as a 1" Sea Swirl - not completely silent, but very reasonable. The unit is pretty small, tidy, and well assembled. I can't wait to put it in action.

I will install these things once my tank arrives. Should be shipped out next week 8)

Cool. I just ordered a 4-way, vesion 3. I'm gonna hook it to a hammerhead and switch back and forth between two opposed manifolds on a closed loop.

hahah... I was just going to post a "Geeze Len welcome to 2 years ago..." message, good thing I read the last post.

I'm curious about how the scrapers worked out too, it'd be much nicer to scrape coraline without submerging my hand in the tank each time (after that really bad infection I got not too long ago)

chub,
the OM is still working, but I've recently decided to stop using it to simplify my plumbing now that I have Vortechs. Also, the OMs make audible noise that I'd like to eliminate.

I'd say they're about the same db. Since the variable output on the OMs are no longer needed now that I'm running oscillating Vortechs, it's the logical thing for me to remove from my system to reduce noise.

FWIW, the OM makes a creaky type of noise whereas the Vortechs make a buzzing type of noise. Both aren't terribly loud, but both are definitely audible

I've heard that spinning one half of the vortecs can quiet them down. They say there's a sweet spot.

I hate the noise from my OM. I'm either going to get vortecs or make a sound proof box for the one on my tank.

To me it seems around 70% power and the vortechs are almost silent, but then again it depends upon a large number of factors I'm sure, how thick your acrylic/glass is, how sturdy it is, other background noise in the room (i.e. if you have another 100+ gallon tank in the area)

However with my OM I never noticed any noise what so ever from it.
