Dr Mac & Son's is where I got my original 90lbs box of Tonga Kaelini (ended up being about $3.25/lbs when shipping was included).

That's a great price for Kaelini rock!

I do advocate getting cured rock if you can. I feel that some of the algae issues that people have are attributed to certain batches of uncured rock.

My current set-up has special ordered Jakarta rock, but I let it sit for a couple of months to fully cure. Could be considered overkill, but I've never come across an algae issue while in this hobby.

Yah this rock was uncured, it came directly from tonga, sat in a warehouse in LA for the day (on one major heat wave) then for whatever reason the airlines went to Las Vegas (also in a heatwave, and for Las Vegas that's pretty damn hot) then I finally picked it up at the cargo terminal of Delta airlines in San Fran, which also ironically was in the middle of a heatwave, at 3:30am, it was quite warm out then even to give you an indication.

Boy did it stink, no issues with algae though when I cured it, but in retrospect I think if I get more I'll cure it in my basement and not in my living room :)

I want some more, but I don't really want to toss $300 down the drain until I get some more financial stability (got my lottery ticket right here!), plus I"m sure airline fuel costs have risen so it'll probably cost a bit more to send it, about a year ago it cost $45 for the box, now I wouldn't be suprised if its double that.

I'm a huge fan of hand picking my rock. So I come in right when the LFS gets it and pick the pieces I want as they are taking them out of the boxes. I pay alittle more but I have exactly what I want.

I used to get mine from Harbor Aquatics until they shut down this past year. Now I'd probably get it from Premium Aquatics since they're only a 3 hr drive for me.
