Hi
At the moment i have a 15 gallon reef it contains.
15kg live rock
2 clowns
xenia
some form of button polop
and some corals not sure what they are.
i have a few question though so sorry if some of it sounds dumb.
My filtration on the tank is the
15kg live rock
A internal power filter
a external power filter
i dont think this is enough can any one suggest what i should get.
Im currantly thinks of a mini sump above my tank as it cannot be drilled.
has anyone got any ideas of how to set the sump up i want a mm compartment in it as well.
oh and it cannot real cost much as im 13 and short on funds.
2 more things
What sought of lighting am i looking at to keep clams and some sought of anemone or is my lighting enough for any species fo them now.
it
1 power glo 18000k
1 power glo 18000k
1 actinic
my second question is what is a closed loop.
sorry for all the questions.
thanks

I will answer one of them for ya

A closed loop is just an intake from the tank that runs to a pump and then back to the tank. Its just used to increase circulation without having powerheads in the tank.

Are your lights Normal Flourescent tubes?

NO fluorescents cant keep very much. you need MH for clams except derasas and squamosas might work under a lot of PC's. if you, like me, dont have an endless cash flow, use Power Compact Fluorescents. PC's. they are cheap and put out a good output and spectrum, which is very important. MH isnt a horrible lot more expensive, though, so you might want to look intosaving some money up for a 150W MH retrofit, which can be had for barely over $1 per watt. then you would have the lighting requirements for... well almost any photosynthetic critter. 10 wpg is a lot! 8O
