Anybody have some pictures/or links to pictures of reefs that are setup in a novel 3 dimensional way? I'm tired of seeing all of the "fruit stand" setups. i just set up a new 125 and would like to do something different. Thanks!

One thing I've found handy is to google actual reef photos from Fiji, etc. Too many people like making a 'box o' rocks' type setup. Personally I like a minimalistic approach to rockwork...

you'll have to excuse me. . . i seem to have soiled my pants. . . yeah i'll be doing something "like" that in the next 2 years (i'm building a new house and this will be installed during construction). i'll document that heavily for everyone to enjoy. for now the 125gallon will have to do. man this guy has my head in a frazzle! anyone else got anything cool to throw my way?

i want to do something like that in like a 450-500g tank...That's easily the nicest tank i've ever seen.

Yes, but it takes a LOT more to keep it nice than your average tank, a good hunk of it the initial planning, but even more of it is the routine maintainence, don't expect to have a tank like that and just be able to sitback and stare at it for a while.

Did someone call?

I like the tanks that are actually a cylinder, and the center is a cylinder of live rock going from the top to the bottom.

The tank would be floor to ceiling of course...

I have seen a couple of them at aquariums

Actually, for some reason, they just seem to spread in my tank. My site's pics are now about 15 months old....there are quite a few more rics today. It all started about 5 years ago with a few polyps of each color. I'll get around to updating the site soon. The tank has changed quite a bit recently. I came to the conclusion that the tank was getting too busy looking...I removed about half the coral colonies, about 400lbs of rock, lowered the overall rockwork, and increased the open sand space. There is still the center canyon; but now, also two other canyons.
