Hi,

I happened into a LFS today just to see what they had (sometimes they DO have cool stuff and I grab it before it dies). What I found was a tank with WAYYYY too many small anemonies in it... but one caught my eye. TO MY EYE it looks like a rose BTA, but they were selling it as a condy at $6. Now I know that juvi condys can look VERY similar to BTAs, even having swollen bubble tips, but the base was flesh color, and the tenticles looked more like a BTA .. so.. OF COURSE.. I bought it I figured even if it IS A CONDY its very pretty.

So here's my question how do I tell - definitly- if it is a condy or a BTA anemone? What are the characteristics that would distinguish the juvis?
It very well could be a CHEAP RBTA :) the same shop was selling Curley Q anemonies as LTA's (how you get THAT mixed up I have NO IDEA).

Any Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
B.

A pic would be helpful :)

A baby condy looks like a small condy,,, not sure how one could be mistaken for a BTA,,,,,I've never seen one with bubble tips.

My anemone is a condy.... BUT it looked a LOT like a BTA in the store.. poor lighting, bad flow.. just bad conditions...

I also read in Sprung's book that the juvis can look like bta's. Once I got it in an adequate tank it extended and is a pretty purple condy.

Not what I was hoping for.. but still pretty.
