A couple months back our local reef club had a talk about this sort of thing, unfortunately no one took notes so I forgot all the specifics . But apparently there is quite a bit of freeware out there to which record all this stuff.

You could try Aquarium Manager.
It's free and a bit dated, but it can be used.
Just do a search.

I found a free program and downloaded it from ruddware.com.. Seems to be pretty good and simple because it's free. Some of them, like the one mentioned above, from marine...is very expensive but looks great...
I will look up aquarium manager now to see what it is all about.
