i have a new, relatively large, 4-5 inches across, toadsool leater. it has been opening up very nicely. it has already gone through a shedding stage cuz it stayed closed for a day or two. a couple days ago i moved it from the side of the tank to the middle where there was better current cuz detrius was settling on the crown. it opend right up that day but the nex 2 day, up until now, it is slouched over all the way down to the base like a "U". is this ok? the crown is still opening up, it still looks nice but it is not standing up anymore? do they do this sometimes? like move around and stuff?

Don't worry. Everything sounds normal.
Leathers will just act funny sometimes.

If I change the current in my tank from what it is used to my large toadstool leather will flop over for a few days until he gets used to it.

If many days go by and he doesn't stand up you could place a rock next to the base for a little "support."

I would be worried if the stalk is bent over, wether the polyps are out in this case or not doesnt matter. If it stays this way it will more then liely contract a protazoan infection in the crease and have it spread inside. I would try to reposition the rock it is on to force it back over, and increase the current in the area it is in.

Yeah, prop it up and every place the stalk touchs it will adhere to. Nothing like having your toadstool attached to several rocks. yeash.
