I know that nothing beats MJ's when it comes to wavemaker/powerhead combos, but I would like to know if anyone has success with Hagen (Aquaclear) powerheads. As of now, it seems that only the Hagen's have the adjustable clamps that can be applied to wider tank rims (1").

Open to other suggestions, of course.

TIA

I used to use a Natural Wave powerstrip and a Hagen 802. It worked great for a few months than the powerhead would chatter and sometimes stick on the restarts. The Maxijet never had the problem. The 802 however can give you alot of flow (495 GPH)

a lot of clicking with the hagens. the MJ's work better. Better yet get a tunze system. I have ghe turbelle classics. they have the motor outside of the tank so no heat transfer. they are great and move alot of water...
