Hair algae on feather duster

Hi. The tanks eems pretty happy, but there is a small outcropping of hair algae on one rock...which I plan to pull off this evening before the bi- monthly water change. My question is this...should I pull it off of the tube to the feather duster where it seems to like to grow too? The feather duster appears healthy, quick resonses and all, and has a long tube which he attached to a rock. I had coral on the bottom and added a lot of sand to cover most of his tube but there is still an inch exposed. I just do not want to hurt the duster and cannot find anything written about this in the literature.

Depends on the type of algae, but I'm not sure you could pull it off without damaging the tube. I'd only worry if it overgrows the opening, it could keep the worm from feeding.
