1/15hp won't nearly be enough to chill your tank.
I have a 1/10hp on my 58g and it has been pretty stable, 1-2 degrees of my setting.
Maybe the other members have a better idea as to how much hp is needed.

1/4 is good or 1/3rd ,i have one (1/4) on my 90 with 30 gal sump ,i also use fans with a controller ,which really works great . The chiller is just for back up if anything should happen.

If you get a smaller chiller then you need ,it might not chill the tank or even have to over work itself to chill the tank .

Good luck

Keep in mind that if you have a reef tank, your water volume isn't actually 110 g. I also have a 75 w a 30g sump..and I estimate my actual water volume to be 80ish gallons of water.

That said..here is a link just to give you an idea as they list what size systems they will handle..

I recently picked up the CL 650 from another reefer..so I'm all set if I decide to upgrade at some point :)

GO with the biggest chiller you can get. It will actually work (power on) less than a smaller one(which will constantly be running). So although you may save on initial cost, you'll end up paying in the long run on electricity.

I was one click away from dropping $800 on a chiller when I thought I'd try a $6 clip on fan before I went ahead. Sure enough it did the trick. It's amazing to me... I have it pointing at the water in my sump which is inside of an enclosed stand... so it's not even getting much of the ambient air outside of what leaks in from behind.

My controller had been shutting my tank down at 84 for about 3 days... even with the air in the house at 72. I have fans in my canopy but not aimed at the water so it only really blows the hot air from the lights which helps a little but obviously not enough.

The clip on fan definately causes more evaporation... but that's a lot cheaper than the increased electric from the chiller.

If you are going to buy a chiller I used
http://www.jbjlighting.com/prod_chiller_size.asp for a sizing chart.

One thing I did read is that it's better to get an oversized chiller than an undersized as it will be more cost effective in the long run. The logic is that say a 1/15th hp chiller takes 45 minutes to drop the temp 5 degrees... it may take a 1/4hp 10 minutes so you're saving yourself a lot in electric by spending a little more up front. Not sure how accurate that is, but if I read it on the internet it must be right?

Another reason why I got the bigger one. Of course, you set it so it won't have to make a 5 degree drop all at one time and as Fluid says it only runs for a very short period of time if it is more powerful. So far my sump fan has kept the tank at a max of 84..thinking the chiller will be coming on this weekend though!!

I am was using a 1/4 hp on my 125 gal tank and just up-dated to 1/3hp. I agree with VIC8361. Do not go below 1/4hp. I have a 1/4 hp chiller F/S if you are interested. Check out my post on the "For Sale/For Trade" forums.

Hey Jay a 1/4 HP would be just fine for you. I've had my current chiller running for 2 years w/o a problem. JBJ chillers are very quite but a few other manufacturers have been following close behind. I run a mix of vinegar and freshwater through the chiller once a year just to clean out the deposits.
