Restarting skimming

So, last week I stuck my hand in the aquarium after having had a lot of cooking oil on it earlier. Both skimmers went flat, and 5 days later they still are. I wiped them down but they won't budge. Is there anything I can put in to break up the oil- tiny drop of detergent perhaps?

would a vinegar cleaning do the trick?? I don't like messing with any kind of soap, but that's just me...

How about a little kalkwasser then rinse with R/O or tank water? Also, sounds strange but how about rubbing dry salt on it then rinsing? In my distant youth when I worked as a waitress, that's how we'd clean glass coffee pots.
