Hey yall..

I've got a 100gal in my room which has a lot of windows and stays at about 80some degrees. Will this fark up my tank if i'm consistantly at about 82-85 degrees F?

thanks in advance

I've been purposely keeping my nano at a constant 85F. Most animals are thriving. Blue Ricordea yuma is the exception but I'm convinced it doesn't like the lighting.

82 is perfectly fine. 85 is getting up there but is within reason. The higher the temp, the faster the chemical processes and metabolism. The faster the chemical processes, the faster any potential problems may turn into something signficant. I'd try to bring it down to about 82 via some fans blowing across the water's surface.

I agree with Len pretty much, but I'd say that bringing it down to 84 would be adequate. I've kept my tank at 84 for years, that way when the heat spikes to 87 - no big deal. If you keep your tank at 75, and then it spikes to 87 - problem.

My tank stays above 82 year round. I try to keep it under 84 but 86 to 88 has been hit on hot days mid-summer. My new aquacontroller will help address my heat issues as it will now shut off my halides, turn on cooling vans, room vent fans, etc based on tank temperatures.
