Iodide?

Hey guys,

I recently bought a small pulsing xenia frag from the LFS. The person there said that I should add Iodide for the health of the xenia. Is this really nessissary? I don't like adding extra stuff to my tank.

Anyone with pulsing xenia experiance?

In my experience no Iodide is needed.

Here's my result without dosing:

I have both pulsing xenia and anthelia and do not add any iodide. I have to give it away it spreads so fast. I add DT's for feeding and have good water movement, but no additional dosing to the tank except calcium.

(Xenia don't need much calcium either, but that does not mean you want to purposely make the calcium low since it may retard the growth rate when the water is very different from natural sea water composition.)
