I dunno but I bought a 3 polyp acan frag for $80 recently. It was the red/blue type. I also got a nice aquacultured purple tipped A. Granulosa with white polyps for $45.

I am sure as the micros go up they are going down. I don't think they should really cost more then a nice favia but that is just me.

Reef: They're a dying fad my friend! I saw three of them suckers at the BAR frag swap and that was just with a glance at the table, I didn't even really go looking through stuff. These were the Lords though, don't know how far they go as far as rare *shrug*

Mike, thats only cause we did a good job of getting people to bring 'rare' stuff to the swap!

I don't know if they were ever actually 'rare', depending on how you define that word. There are plenty of them in asia, but few of them in the states.
I think rare is a local issue. I also think popular is a better word - rare is marketing speak.

Did you get anything good at the swap, Mike?

I never bought any. I figured since they grow fast and are easy to maintain, that they won't stay rare for long. Glorified favias, really.

It sucks how it was given the rare tag when their quite common in the wild. They're just restricted.

Don't know if it's good (I'm not a big "rare" type person, only been in the hobbie about a year and a half so I'm a noobie with that regards), I got some of that green nephawhoozits which looks pretty cool, some little purple mouthed (mostly brown) zoos, devils hand, and I did get one of Jim's Blue/Red chalice frags, I'll see how well I can keep that, I really wanted to get my 120 tank invert only tank up so I can have my "pristine" water, but didn't exactly happen as quickly. Overall I'm happy, now granted we had a fragging demo the month prior and I got 15 frags from that so wasn't expecting to top that :D my favorite is the purple polyped one I posted in that thread that had the superman in it or something. I really would have liked some nice softies though, the green neph is nice but expected a tad more in the way of zoanthids, my brown zoo starter packs went in the first round though *laugh*

Hahahahah yah when I first saw that I asked my LFS owner, "how come favias are selling for $100 a polyp". And it really got disgusting when you started seeing ebay selling Acan Lord??? and idiots paying for those as well.
