I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS.

1. HOW IMPORTANT IS IT TO HAVE A CHILLER? IF YOU HAVE A CHILLER AND IT IS SET AT 76 DEGREES BUT MOST OF THE TIME I CHECK AND IT IS SHOW 77 + IT IS NORMAL?

I HAVE 1/4 HP CORAL LIFE CHILLER IN MY 150 GALS REEF TANK AND MOST OF THE TIME THE TEMP READ AT 77.1 OR 78 DEGREES UNLESS THE LIGHTS IS OFF THEN I WILL SEE 76 DEGREES.

2. IS A 1/4 HP CHILLER ENOUGH FOR 150 GALS?

3. I PURCHASE A LINEATUS WRASS FOR ALMOST TWO WEEKS NOW AND IT IS DOING FINE, IT IS VERY HEALTHY TILL LAST SATURDAY. I DID THE WATER CHANGE AND ALSO ADD THE RADIANT WRASS. I DID NOT SEE EITHER THE LINEATUS OR THE RADIANT. I CAN UNDERSTAND THE RADIANT MAY BE STRESSING OUT AND HIDE BUT THE LINEATUS NEVER DISAPPEAR BEFORE. I CHECK AROUND MY HOUSE I DID NOT SEE ANY DRY FISH. I HAVE A COLLECTION OF WRASSES IN MY TANK AND THEY ALL GET ALONG JUST FINE.

2 AFRICAN LEOPARD WRASSES.
2 SCOTT FAIRY WRASSES (COOK ISLAND, AUSTRALIAN)
1 RED CORRIS
1 RED TAIL TAMARIN WRASS
1 TWIN SPOT WRASS
1 EXQUISITE WRASS
1 RADIANT WRASS
1 LINEATUS WRASS
1 PURPLE TANG
1 ARABIAN PSUEDO
1 DRAGON GOBBY
3 CLEANER SHRIMP
3 PEPPERMINT SHRIMP

DID I HAVE TOO MANY FISH IN MY TANK?

What, I didn't hear that :D (caps = shouting ;) )

Is your chiller running when it's at 77 +? Is it running all day long when the lights are on? What is your differential set point? You could have it set to +-2 degrees, which would mean your chiller won't turn on till it's 2 degrees over you temp set point (76 in your case) and off when it's 2 degrees below. Is the chiller in a cabinet and if so, does that cabinet have good ventilation?

The chiller is on and off every few mins during the time the light is on. I have it set at +-2 degree. I put the chiller in the garage, should have enough cool air. i am sorry about caps

If it's on and off every few minutes during lights on, it's being overworked and is undersized IMO. I'd upgrade to the 1/2hp. I'd keep you dif. set at either 2 for now, and 1 when you get the new oversized chiller :D

There isn't any clicking sounds in the tank, is there? If it didn't jump (most likely scenario), it could've gotten eaten by a Mantis shrimp.

i look around the tank top and bottom, between the rock but no luck. I know lineatus don't hide in the sand. That is something i don't like about wrasses. they like to hide alot and sometime they will disappear for good. i have so many wrasses mising in my tank. By the way i just trade in my chiller and get the corallives 1/2 hp. hopefully it will get better. thank you for all the help you you all. I am still a rookie, glad i found this website.
