OK...
Let the suggestions fly.

90g reef - most of the fixins listed here:

http://www.reefs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=72624

as you can see the fish inhabs are a pair of O. Clowns and a Flame Hawk.

Other recient additions that are not on this page are a pair of firefish. I will post good picks when they are in there for more than a week (and will hold still for a picture).

Need to take a good full tank shot too, did some slight re-aquascaping last weekend (To get some of that GSP outta there  )

Now we would like something a bit larger and flashy. I do not want to risk any angels in the tank (dwarf or otherwise) and feel slightly the same about butterfly fish (though I am open to suggestion). I think the wife and I are leaning toward a sailfin tang.

How 'bout the rest of ya, any recomendations?

In my opinion the only Tang compatible with your environment would be a Kole and I think it would thrive.

A Yellow or Purple might be OK but a 4' tank is borderline.

The tank is way too small for a Sailfin.

A Kole was my first tang, and even though it's not as "colorful" as a yellow/purple/hippo/etc It does have a lot of personality as it flaps it's "wings" and flies through the water :)

All good posts here.
Even though a yellow tang get's rather large in the wild, they do not reach full adult size in captivity - gererally, nowhere close. Only experience will bear this out, not reading books or erroneous posts on the matter in other threads.
A small flavescens, kole, or scopas will be just fine.

Good luck

Or a tomini...I've always wanted to get one. Kind of delicate from what I hear though.

I wonder if the tomini is more delicate than the chevron?

They are both way more $$$ than the kole!

Blue hippo if you got no parasites :) They are very peaceful towards other fish... only thing is.. if the water params slip it will get parasites faster than you can count to 1 mississippi

I generally do not recommend this species, the reason you sited being part of it. The other factor, they are just not a species that adapts well to captivity for the most part. Yes, there are a fair number of them out there living just fine, however this number pales in comparison to the number collected from the wild. While their mortality rate is significantly better than say the Powder Blue, I still think that for a vast majority of aquarists, this species should be avoided.

And another factor is they are more of an open water fish so the 4 foot tank is a bit cramped.
