Hey all,

I have a 24 gallon tank, plenty of live rock and hiding places and a 3" sand bed, currently housing an orchid dottyback and percula clown. I'm looking at acquiring a good sand sifting goby. Thinking about the yellow watchman as it seems a good match size-wise.

However, I heard someone mention that orchid dottybacks aren't too happy about blennies sharing the same turf. Is this true? From my knowledge, gobies are part of the blennie family and I'm wondering if this would pose a compatibility problem?

Orchids are not any harder on blennies or gobies, and they do not inhabit the same niche in general anyway.
Although P. fridmani is a pretty calm fish, any small fish added at this point may be picked on, so my advice is to rearrange the rock when adding the new fish. AFTER quarantine is finished for the new guy of course.

You should be fine. I've kept P.fridamni with watchmans without problems. If your's is captive bred, it will be even safer.

Thanks for the news! Especially the rearrangement of rock to help reduce established territory markers. Great tip.
