Keep in mind that there will be a BIG differance in bio-load and so forth when you go from 10 to 75g. If you are looking for somthing to grow with, between the 2, I would deff. go with the Remora. The Remora wont overflow onto your carpet, it is SUPER quiet, and IMO is just a better skimmer. You will want to use MaxiJet 1200 instead of the Rio pump on the Remora. I have had one on my 37G reef for the last year and love it. I've not had a single problem out of the thing.

Remember that if you do go with the Remora you will get a much wetter skimmate ... it's normal... I see LOTS of posts here concerned with that.

In conclusion.. I'd go with the Remora.. .just goto GOOGLE.com and look up reviews on both of the skimmers.

Have a good one!

I have a Bak Pak 2R... I love it...But I would go Remora...I think they're both good skimmers but the Remora is more proficient from what i hear...

IMO either one will be fine for a 10 gallon, although IME the Remora is a better performer. Personally I wouldn't use either one on a 75 gallon tank.

The BackPack has a reputation for being loud. I wouldnt reccomend one on anything over a 29.

What he said.

Neither the remora or Bakpak is suitable for a 75g IMO. I'd just make do with regular water changes on your 10g and then get a Euroreef ES5-2 or ES5-3 when your get the 75g (assuming you're also going to have a sump).
