Yes Nanoreefer, IMAC is open to everyone, as Len said. If you are a beginner there may be one or two presentations that will be a little too technical but you will be able to get a wealth of information out of the rest of them. And the most important and valuable part of IMAC is that in the evenings and between presentations you can "schmooze" with the speakers and other hobbyists, to get even more helpful info.

And, there's the great trade show where you will see stuff you won't see in your LFS. You can handle it and ask the manufacturer questions about it before you order it on line or from your dealer.

Its probably this mixing with other hobbyists and putting faces to the names that you see on the reef boards that brings people back year after year. I haven't met one person who felt that the money spent on going to a conference like IMAC wasn't well worth it.

We hope to see you there.

Cheers,
Dennis

Oi!

I don't know about the student discount thingie, but if you are interested in this hobby then you will have lots of fun there. I was at the first 2 and am registered for this year already. It is probably the best thing you can spend your money on for a fun filled weekend. Go, and you will not regret it I'm sure.

Gee, do you think this post is 'positive' enough for my first one here?

Cheers!

Yes Nigle IMAC is about the best thing you can spend your money on for the hobby. It costs about as much as a few really good corals and the knowledge you will get will probably last somewhat longer, and it's a lot more fun.

I remember you from previous IMACs and yes you are all set for this year's. Your first post was a very positive one and welcome to Reefs.org.

Nanoreefer, IMAC does offer a student discount. Just scross down on the Registration page at www.theimac.org and you'll find it.

I'm looking forward to seeing both of you guys at IMAC this June.

Cheers,

Dennis
