What would you feed one of these guys. Its hungry all the time and does not seem to be getting any fatter.

I have been feeding frozen shrimp, flounder, salmon, anything I buy fishwise for myself. Plus it eats any flakes I put in the tank for other fish.

I am wondering if I am missing some nutrient it needs.

Sounds like you should have it's nutiritional requirements fulfilled. These guys don't get fat, so if your specimen isn't looking too thin, I wouldn't be concerneda about it. If it is wasting away slowly, then I'd consider removing him and treating him with anti-worm medication.

Its not wasting away slowly, its about the same as it was when I got it. So, I guess I will give it a bit longer. I think I will add a feeding a day just for him, that fish is always at the top of the water when I walk over there.

Thanks for the response

If you want to feed him some natural foods, throw in some small live shrimps and crabs. Pricey, but it's what they normally predate in the wild.
