"Help" Trachyphyllia (Green Brain Coral)

My Trachyphyllia last summer was receeding off of its skeleton....Nearing a year later is finally going to come all the way off its skeleton. It has survived and still looks good when fully inflated but over the last week it has been its attachment to its skeleton entirely......is there anyone who has seen this before? Is there anything i can do so that it doesnt end up just floating around the tank. I can imagine it will not survive unless something can be done.....Thanks, Tony.

This is typically the result of poor water quality, specifically low calcium and alkalinity. Do you test and supplement for these?

The water is bad....thats a different subject- thinking of building a refug/sump to help...What if anything can i do for the brain now...last night came completely off of the skeleton and is floating around the tank, i cant imagine that it will survive if i cannot attach it to something or cause it to attach itself to something??? Anyone with ideas??

first check your alk and Ca...if its low, compensate with w/c's from a good water soure, ie RO water (even going to Walmart and purchasing it from the RO dispenser) and/or supplement with Kalk or another form of calcium builder
