For sticking pieces of live rock together to create a nice effect?

I see it mentioned a lot but what is the brand? Can it be used in a working fishtank? etc etc etc...

I use the 2 part under water marine type epoxy you can get at home Depot and yes you can use it in your main tank, but the skimmer might go nuts for a few days. Or ya can buy the more expensive pink-like-corraline-algae stuff from the online suppliers which does look more natural.

My only problem with the stuff is that it takes 20 mins to set, but a buddy taught me to fit the 2 pieces to gether with the epoxy, let it setup a few minutes then carefully take them apart and use superglue gel in the "groove"and put it back together. It sets quicker that way.

So, I can prop it up and it will set in 20 minutes huh?

Now, can you use this stuff for gluing really large rocks in unnatural positions? Like 15-20 lb rocks?

Yes. However, it can make your skimmer go nuts, so don't use it and then immediately leave the house for the day, if you have a skimmer prone to freaking out and overflowing.

You mix it together, and then put a blob where you want something to hold, and then mush the rock into it. It will harden, and (theoretically) lock the rock in place. But it is not sticky, so that can be kind of frustrating.

Like if, for instance, I wanted to recreate this in my tank

:D

That's amazing

I just ran across some pics from a guy in Montana that did the same thing but with larger rocks

I wouldn't have the patience, plus my tank has current blowing stuff around ya know

I think I should go with epoxy

Oh, and is there any limit to how much I can use at a time? What if I want to get it all glued in at once and use 3-4 tubes. Any problem with that? My skimmer dumps into itself when it goes nuts anyway

I think you would get sick of it before you could go through 3 or 4 tubes. You have to knead each blob in your finger for 30 seconds or so before you can use it. That would wear me out!

Best stuff to use, bar none is the Hold Fast stick by marineland/Aquarium systems.

Bonds in 30 minutes I beleive and solid as heck!

Take it from someone who has a 60 hex, where piling rocks 6-7 high is a nessecity.

I was turned onto this stuff from a local Salt water aquarium only place that uses it in theirs for the show tanks.
